Dilip Kumar gets a clean chit from an 18-year-old cheque bounce case

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s fans have a reason to rejoice. The actor, who had a hearing at the 14 Metropolitan Magistrate Court for an 18-year-old case, got a clean chit from the court. The actor was apparently acquitted of all the charges.

In a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Saira Banu had revealed about the impending case to all his fans and asked all his well wishers to pray for the actor.

Although it was mandatory for the actor to be present in the court during the hearing, the yesteryear actor was not in a position to do so, given his health condition.

The court ruled that Dilip Kumar was not directly involved in the day-to-day affairs of the company and hence he cannot be held guilty for the default of payments. He was hence acquitted of all the charges levelled against him. Saira Banu again took to micro-blogging site to convey her regards to all his fans on behalf of him. She wrote, ‘I thank my God. My simple, straightforward husband has been cleared of any involvement in Geekay Exim Co. case.’

She not only expressed her gratitude towards God but also to the adviocates who worked in defence of the actor. ‘I thank all our well-wishers, friends, fans… for the prayers.
